OMG WHAT A BOOK! Enough said! I’m beyond excited to bring you my review of this book, it’s simply INCREDIBLE! I’m not going to say any more! Enjoy the review!
A child lies in an unmarked grave, another missing without a trace.
Dora’s life is a mess. Her husband has left her for another woman, she can’t pay the bills, and most days she doesn’t bother to get dressed. She feels life couldn’t get any worse, then her oldest friend, Eddie, is murdered. Before Eddie died he told Dora a shocking secret. A secret she wishes she didn’t know. She is not the only one who knows Eddie secret. Someone wants Eddie silenced for good and they are coming after Dora.
As Dora uncovers Eddie’s past she learns of a place called Blue Hollow where an unimaginable crime took place. Now Dora knows the truth of what happened there. Why an innocent man rots in jail. The secret has already taken four lives. She has a choice, bury the past with Eddie or become the next victim of Blue Hollow.
Wow where do I start with this book? This has definitely become one of my favorite books EVER and I’ll be recommending it to everyone who asks what to read next! The perfect Crime / Thriller! THIS RIGHT HERE IS WHY MY FAVOURITE GENRE IS CRIME / THRILLER! This has everything you want in this genre to be perfect! I gasped out loud so many times through this story!
The book starts with a historic horrific crime taking place, which is witnessed by a young boy!
Then it jumps forward to the current day where the main Character Dora comes in to the story, she has recently split from her husband who was unfaithful and facing the harsh reality of soon having to move from the family home to somewhere smaller as she will be left with not a lot of money! She has 2 girls who are grown up and have left home!
She has a very close relationship with her Uncle Eddie who isn’t actually her Uncle but a close family friend! She’s become increasingly closer to him since her father died!
However Eddie is very unwell and Is also very paranoid and soon starts saying thing to Dora that leave her skeptical and thinking it’s all in his head. However he mentions some tapes that he wants her to listen to and they plan a trip to see another of their friends Charlie!
However that is cut short when Eddie is brutally murdered and when Dora finds him she realises very quickly that perhaps what Eddie told her wasn’t all due to paranoia and she soon sets out to recover the tapes and find out Eddies secret!
This takes her not only on an extremely emotional journey but also on a Severely dangerous one that finds her being the target of a number of hit attacks!
Dmitri comes to her rescue and promises to protect her and help up realise the truth and find out all the secrets but it’s a very bumpy ride, full of Dora not knowing who she can trust, and second guessing herself and hating everyone a number of times!
Does the truth get revealed? You’ll have to read and find out but let me say, I COULD NOT STOP READING! The twists and the secrets are just absolutely SHOCKING!
The action starts on page one, and it doesn’t stop right through to the last page!
I can’t remember the last time I read a book so viciously brutal, full on horrific blood shed, a shocking group of men committing the worst possible crimes imaginable, where the crimes are so difficult to read in a good way!
This book is INCREDIBLE! The storyline and characters are so well thought out, so much time has been put in to every little detail, and even though there is so much to this story, it’s written and laid out in an easy way so it’s easy to get your head around what has happened and to understand!
I would absolutely love there to be a follow on to this book, to find out what happens to all the evil men, to dig in to other children’s horrific experiences and to just find out more!
The darkest, but yet so clever and just absolutely the most gripping book around I HAVE to give it 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️! PERFECT! The only thing wrong with this book is that it ended!
WOW WOW WOW!
